1. The stainless steel looks great. It arrived well packaged with no damage. Perhaps they have changed the packaging since they were having so many issues with dents. It looks like a more expensive fridge ($600 range) until you closer inspect it. Love the handle on top and the fact that it comes with a lock and two keys. The door swing can also be reversed to work in any space.
2. The wooden shelves are made of cheap wood. They seem dinky, as each piece of wood is very thin. With the door closed however, they look great and give it an expensive look. There are few wine fridges offered with wooden shelves at this price point, so you have to give it some leeway.
3. Like with all wine fridges, regardless of price, it won't hold as much as many bottles as they say. One the lower unit, the shelves aren't as deep so some of the longer Cabernet bottles won't fit. Additionally, you will have to remove a shelf to fit wide bottomed bottles such as Moscato. The shelves are removable, but the height cannot be adjusted so you will lose a shelf to these types of bottles.
4. The dual zone is a bit misleading. To have a true dual zone, you would need two separate doors with their own thermoelectric or compressor units. When you inspect the divider between the zones, you'll notice that at the front where the controls are, it doesn't seal itself up on the door--there'a a narrow gap running the width of the fridge. You're likely going to have problems keeping the temperatures accurate if they're set at different levels. Lucky for us, both reds and whites are meant to be stored at about 55 degrees, so that works out ok.
5. Some people mention nearly silent units, others heard bird noises emanating from theirs. So far, mine has a loud fan. It's louder than my GE Cafe fridge in the kitchen. It also makes a loud chirp noise intermittently. My roommate literally thought we bought a pet bird. It doesn't sound like cooing doves as others have had, but a high pitched chirp. Going to keep an eye on this over 24 hours and see if it needs to be returned or serviced.
UPDATE: After a couple weeks, the bird-like chirping has stopped, and the fridge now makes a weird wooshing noise. The fan is not particularly quiet. I wouldn't place this in a quiet room if it can be avoided.
So now, the fridge: it looks great and ours is so quiet you can't tell it is running. We have it under the counter (quasi-"built-in"-looking) with a couple of inches around for circulation. It seems like every model of wine chiller has detractors at every price range, and this one has pretty good ratings other than from people who are annoyed about shipping damage, so we decided we would rather spend our money on wine and not the fridge. It looks very good, and the handle matches our LG appliances' handles (an added plus.) As for people who complain about the shelves, they seem fine to me and some people may be expecting a Maserati for the price of a Mazda. Come on, the shelves are fine. Also, many people complain that they cannot fit oversized bottles in this (and many other) fridges. Well, I slightly picked up a shelf and slid a Pinot noir bottle onto the shelf below it just fine. I would have to slightly raise the shelf above to slide the oversized bottle out, but so what? I do not have a broken arm, And please...champagne is to be served "well chilled" - that means store it in your regular fridge at 40 degrees! Lastly, you can see the labels if you slide the shelf out a bit. No need to pull it almost all the way out. Again, I think some detractors (not necessarily here, but if you look at other sites) are being a little silly.
This is a very nice looking, quiet, well-functioning wine fridge at the best pice you are going to find. Well, on sale anyway (how I bought mine, less than here.)
